Circulars from H D Earl in 1895 and A R Trevithick
in 1905. Firstly encouraging foremen to use the recently installed telephones
then basic instructions on how to use telephones. Must remember that these intruments would
not be anywhere near as commonly distributed as they are nowadays.
Notice the similarities between the text use but differences in style of formatting.
The earlier memo uses much more elegant fonts and lining compared to the later one.
Interestingly, assuming H D Earl was Henry Douglas Earl then in 1895 it was prior to his appointment as works manager.
